Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, continues to impress with already so many great restaurants spanning seemingly every ethnicity under the sun. New to the neighborhood and already achieving high acclaim from the industry's best, For All Things Good, a boutique Mexican cafe and molino (more on that later), was included on the list of 131 best cheap eats in New York by Michelin Guide.
Unlike the other restaurants included on the list, For All Things Good, sitting on the corner of Franklin Ave and Greene Ave, serves triangle-shaped tetelas, which are corn masa pockets stuffed with black beans, chihuahua cheese, hibiscus flower and more! The perfectly cooked tortillas and variety of stuffed flavors is the specialty driving this small, yet powerful, tasty cafe.
The word molino, used to describe the restaurant, "is Spanish for mill but is also the word commonly used in Mexico to refer to the place where corn is ground up to make fresh masa and tortillas," according to their website. For All Things Good prides itself on their masa, tortillas, and the simplicity of quality ingredients. They aren't flashy - they're just right, comforting, and well done. It's not surprising how the neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant has responded along with the best food critics in the world. But don't just take my word for it - get out and give it a try yourself, especially if you're seeking a more unique and authentic approach to Mexican food.
